Noah Eckert is currently Chief Commercial Officer of BayWa r.e. Solar Projects, a division of BayWa AG, a $20bn agriculture, energy and building materials company. BayWa has installed over 1.5GW of wind and solar and provides O&M or asset management for over 3GW.  Noah is a solar industry veteran with almost 10 years of experience in sales and development roles in both the commercial and utility-scale market segments. Responsible for managing development, marketing and sales for the utility and commercial operations in the U.S., Canada and Latin America, his impressive background and industry experience have led to the rapid growth of the Americas division. Noah was instrumental in facilitating BayWa’s entry into the solar project space in the Americas with the acquisition of the substantial assets of Martifer Solar.  Prior to joining BayWa, Mr. Eckert worked as the Director of Commercial & Utility Projects for Canadian Solar, securing a pipeline of more than 260 MW in less than 12 months, with estimated revenues of greater than $450 million. In less than 2 years his team, together with their project partners, constructed and sold eight projects, totaling more than 35 MW with an additional 51 MW under construction. Mr. Eckert also served as a Project Developer at BP Solar International where he developed more than 9MW across 20 Walmart stores and commissioned the largest rooftop project at the time with FedEx Ground at 2.42MW.

 

Noah is a recognized speaker at numerous industry and international events - including Intersolar North America, Harvard Club of New York’s Infrastructure Investor Day, Greentech Media Solar Summit, Infocast’s Solar Power Finance & Investment Summit and Utility Scale Solar Summit, Infrastructure Investor Day in London, MIREC and Solar Power International.

 

He holds an International MBA & Masters in Finance from the University of Denver and a B.A. in Anthropology & Geography from Northwestern University.
